Treasury 2025 plenary panel speaker slot for banker

This is a bit of a crazy one, but bear with us. It could well turn out to be your marketing deal of the year so let us sketch the setup. A session initiative has produced the opportunity for two bank representatives to take part in a panel in the closing late-afternoon plenary block at Treasury 360° Nordic 2025 – the only sponsor slots in plenary of the whole conference – and these slots are hereby up for sale. Do you dare?

At the initiative of conference chairman Simon Hesse Hoffmann, the closing block in plenary of Treasury 360° Nordic 2025, in Stockholm on 22 May, will host a panel session titled “Funding: Who sets the terms – the bank or you?”. It will see Simon question panellists, both from the corporate and bank sides.

The concept is based on the success of our 2023 plenary panel “So what I need from you …”, which focussed on how the corporates source competence from an advisory firm or a bank. (This saw BNP Paribas’ Aurelia Normand excel in the banker role, see article here and full-session video here below.) The 2025 edition will shift the topic to the management of funding transactions – scrutinising how treasurers most efficiently should take ownership of the process, including the crucial relation with their bank(s). The session format serves to build a humorous contrast between the deep content level – where true seniors from “both sides” share nuanced insight into the factors that make the crucial corporate-to-bank collaboration successful – versus the “combat” framing that first meets the eye.

This is how Simon sees it coming up: “Group funding is a core part of treasury and a core part of corporate banking. Why do funding negotiations often turn into a lengthy process, especially under time pressure? Are banks demanding more security than necessary, leaving corporates to manage compliance burdens and facing limited financial flexibility? And why do negotiations so often shift focus to less important issues – a ‘lawyers’ dance’ where everyone already knows how it will end? In this panel, two bank representatives and two corporates will debate these questions, touching on whether the bank and its legal advisors are truly focused on the key points or if they’re contributing to unnecessary delays. Join us as we explore why these challenges arise and how they could be addressed.”

So, what’s the optimal profile for the banker you should put there? Simon again: “An extrovert type who can handle direct and – for the sake of arguments in a panel – ‘provocative’ statements. Our treasurers could be super well spoken, so I presume some type with calm enough in themselves as to push back on statements and arguments …”

On the corporate side we are super proud to already have the two chairs filled: Rasmus Olesen of European Energy, and Kasper Christensen of Pandora.

At launch, this offer for a plenary panel seat is open only to the five banks at our top sponsorship level. Only two slots exist, at a fee as an add-on, and they are hereby up for grabs – one each for the two first banks to make the purchase. You buy it here in the webshop and you pay by transfer or card as you choose. (You would normally not need personal contact with us over your purchase here, but of course we are available as always if you have an actual question.) And by the way, yes, we are borrowing a shelf here in the web shop of our sister brand PostTrade 360°.

As you stand up to this unique challenge, you will shine. And when you shine in this session, you’ll shine on pretty much everybody in Nordic treasury.
